A unique idea of service

I don't just deliver.
I stack it, too.

As one of very few suppliers in the region, I stack your wood exactly where you want it – carport, shed, courtyard wall. Neatly stacked, ready to burn, done.

Origin & sustainability

From the forest next door.

My wood grows in the immediate neighbourhood – no long-distance imports, no anonymous supply chain. I know every stand it is harvested from and work closely with the local foresters.

I consistently follow common sustainability standards: close-to-nature forestry, selective single-tree harvesting, short distances and air drying without any added heat or technology.

About my wood

My ambition is to deliver first-class firewood and, along with it, a level of service that is unique in my region.

I love trees, and in every species I find something that makes it special enough that I enjoy seeing it burn in my fireplace or yours.

And because I like trees so much, I choose carefully where they come from and why they were felled.

Earnest ash

Unfortunately a fungus introduced from East Asia has infected ash trees across Central Europe, causing what is known as ash dieback.

Many ash trees will therefore die over the coming years and end up on the firewood market.

As firewood, ash behaves much like beech: long burning time, a calm and beautiful flame, and few sparks. So: ash is the new beech!

Cheeky spruce

Spruce forests dominate my region, so I always have plenty of spruce in stock. It burns with a cheerful crackle and pop and quickly builds up strong heat. The burning time is correspondingly shorter – but never mind: on the way to add another log you can grab a fresh beer or a glass of wine.

Popular beech

The universally popular beech is relatively rare in these latitudes, which naturally means higher prices. Of course I try to meet the demand for beech – but not at any cost. Unfortunately a great deal of beech is imported from Eastern European forests, some of it from illegal logging in genuine primeval forests in Romania, Bulgaria, Belarus or Ukraine.

I can't square that with my conscience.

Beech produces a calm, even flame and, when well seasoned, burns away for a good long while.

Delivery area

Firewood for Munich and around.

My core area runs from the west and south of Munich through the Würmtal valley down to Lake Starnberg. I deliver firewood to Munich, Gräfelfing, Planegg, Krailling, Gauting, Neuried, Pullach, Starnberg, Pöcking, Feldafing and Tutzing – and beyond on request.

Because I drive my own tipping trailer, the firewood arrives at your place on the agreed date – and, if you like, stacked exactly where you want it.

The person behind the wood

About me

My small company “Brennholzinger” was founded in November 2020 in Gräfelfing in the Würmtal valley. I am an exclusive firewood supplier, specialising in perfect service and great products for your enjoyment of campfires, fireplaces and tiled stoves.

In the meantime I have moved to lovely Pöcking on Lake Starnberg, but the wood yard has stayed exactly where it was.

I make my firewood with dedication and care. My greatest joy is when it brings you joy. I want to be the firewood supplier with the best service in the Munich metropolitan area.

I mainly deliver in the south and west of Munich, but by now I have customers as far as the foothills of the Alps in the south, Landsberg am Lech in the west, Dachau in the north and Markt Schwaben in the east.

My customers – private stove owners, restaurants, BBQ fans, smokehouses and many more – rely on my flawless wood and my first-class service.

Forestry work, farming and firewood have been a lived hobby since childhood. “Brennholzinger” now brings hobby and profession together.

In my other life I am the founder and managing director of circular logistics GmbH. I developed a patented reusable packaging for bulky goods such as bicycles, mattresses or washing machines. And because packaging doesn't come back on its own, I also built the matching reusable return system, which lets me serve customers all over Europe.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a Ster and what is an SRM?
Graphic explaining the drying and residual moisture of firewood
How much residual moisture does the wood have?
Seasoned wood has a water content of at most 22 %. Stored dry in fresh air, the moisture usually doesn't drop below 15 %. So: anything at 22 % or less burns nicely in your fireplace. Fresh-cut means part of the wood has only just been felled and should dry a while longer at your place. As a rule 3 – 6 months in a dry, well-ventilated spot, ideally in the sun, is enough. The time also depends on the species: beech, for instance, takes considerably longer than spruce.Graphic explaining the drying and residual moisture of firewood

Yes – for regional delivery I arrange the date with you by phone. Parcels usually go out within 48 hours.
How do I pay?
Directly here in the shop, using the payment methods offered.
